Parent/ carer specific code of conduct:

Plumb Learning workshops and courses are drop off provisions. There may be exceptional circumstances during which a parent or carer will be permitted to stay. In these circumstances we ask that they adhere to the following criteria:

Do not talk about your child during the session other than if there is a concern to be raised directly with the teacher.

Do not try to tell, assist or encourage your child to complete a task or to manage their behaviour unless expressly requested by the teacher.

Our teachers are highly trained professionals and our teaching methods are very specific in order to achieve the best possible benefits for our students. Sometimes a child may appear to be struggling, to have dis-engaged with the activity or to be doing it incorrectly. Do not worry.

We encourage children to struggle and to make mistakes as part of the learning process. Our teachers work in a spiral so no child will be left out whilst gently encouraging those who may find it difficult to ask for help to find their voices and develop positive relationships.

The teachers will constantly observe the class as a whole in order to address issues as and when it becomes necessary and work hard to provide an inclusive, accepting and appropriate learning environment in which expectations are realistic and adaptive. We work through a series of small achievable goals knowing that at any time during the session it could be possible that all of the children are at different stages in their learning and development journey.

We also ask that where the workshops are being held in a space such as a school or where volunteers are present, that the management of behaviour is left to the facilitator unless intervention is specifically requested.

We also expect that any conversations between adults that are not directly applicable to the activity are done outside of the room as to not distract the young people working hard to improve their skills and so that we, as adults, don’t inadvertently give the impression that their work and achievements are less important than our conversations.

  1. Safety and Supervision:
  • Our workshops prioritize the safety of all participants. Instructors are trained to maintain a secure environment.
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for the timely drop-off and pick-up of participants. Late pick-ups may incur additional charges.
  1. Workshop Content:
  • Workshop content, including activities and materials, may be subject to change based on factors such as participant skill levels, safety considerations, and unforeseen circumstances.
  1. Photography and Media Release:
  • By participating in our workshops, participants and their parents/guardians consent to the use of photographs or videos taken during the workshop for promotional and marketing purposes.
  1. Liability Waiver:
  • Participants and their parents/guardians understand and acknowledge the inherent risks associated with hands-on workshops. The workshop provider, its instructors, and venue partners are not liable for any injuries or damages that may occur during the workshop.
  1. Workshop Changes and Cancellations:
  • The workshop provider reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be notified, and alternative arrangements or refunds will be offered in line with our cancellation policy above.
  1. Privacy Policy:
  • The workshop provider is committed to protecting the privacy of participants. Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for workshop-related communication and will not be shared with third parties.
